Google will replace Voice Search with Android Assistant

Before the advent of Google Assistant, the Android mobile platform had the Voice Search feature, which was tightly integrated with the main search engine. In recent years, all the innovations have been centered around the virtual assistant, so the Google development team decided to completely replace the Voice Search feature on Android.
Until recently, you could interact with Voice Search through a Google application, a special search widget, or an application shortcut. By clicking on the icon with the microphone, it was possible to fulfill a request to search for information of interest. For many users, the old voice search is associated with the phrase “OK Google.”
Currently, the voice search icon has been replaced with the icon with the letter “G”. At the same time, the user sees the old interface, but the requests are processed by the virtual assistant. The report says that the innovation has not yet received wide distribution.
Despite the fact that the old voice search supports a large number of languages and has many fans around the world, in the future it will be replaced by Google Assistant. It is hardly worth doubting that in the future Google will integrate the innovation into all available software solutions used in various devices. Most likely, the new feature is no longer being tested, but is starting to spread everywhere. Google does not want to mislead users by offering two, in many ways, similar functions related to voice search.
